About Gary

Gary Fickes has been serving the citizens of Northeast Tarrant County for over 30 years. He has dedicated most of his adult life to giving back to the community where he lives and works.

In addition to serving as your full-time County Commissioner since January 2007, he has served as a Mayor, Planning and Zoning Chairman, member of local, state and national transportation organizations, hospital boards and bank boards.

Beyond his role as a public servant, he has also been actively involved in service organizations including Rotary International (where he is a Paul Harris Fellow), Lions Club, Chambers of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America and Northeast Leadership Forum.

Gary has been re-appointed to the Governor’s Economic Development Stakeholder’s Committee, and he serves on the board of directors of the Harris Methodist Health Foundation, the executive board of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition, and he is a member of the Regional Transportation Commission of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. 

Gary is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Fort Worth.

Tarrant County Commissioner, Precinct 3.
Oversee County operations in Precinct 3, Northeast Tarrant County, which encompasses 18 cities and the unincorporated areas of the Precinct. Maintains a full service maintenance facility with a staff of 35 employees, manages an office staff which includes four employees at two locations (Hurst, Southlake).
