Healthcare
One of the ultimate measures of any community’s quality of life is the access that residents have to quality healthcare. Commissioner Fickes has worked with JPS Health System to improve access for all, and the quality of care for our patients.
Precinct 3 area facilities include two full-service clinics:
- JPS Northeast Clinic on Brown Trail in Bedford
- JPS Gertrude Tarpley Clinic at Rufe Snow Blvd. and Watauga Rd.
Students in Northeast Tarrant County are served by five school-based clinics, located in Hurst, Grapevine, Fort Worth and North Richland Hills.
These serve school age children on the campus (over 2,000 per month). Commissioner Fickes has worked with our local school districts to provide this valuable service. These clinics serve children at the first sign of illness and hopefully can prevent them from visiting the emergency room.
Combining these JPS facilities with THR Harris Methodist HEB Hospital, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine, North Hills Hospital, Cook Children’s Hospital and Children’s Medical Center, in addition to a wide range of private surgical centers, residents and businesses throughout Northeast Tarrant County enjoy an extraordinarily high level of healthcare options.
